This is how you know they’re actually brothers.

this is my favourite scene in the movie i’m not even kidding

I love this scene the most, because Loki is somewhat trying to help and Thor is just done.

Lady Thor is here and it’s about damn time.

Though few details accompanied the announcement, “The View” debuted a piece of art for an upcoming Marvel Comics project featuring a female Thor.

While one “View” host referred to her as ‘Thorette,’ Whoopi Goldberg corrected her, saying this is Thor.

Jenny McCarthy further stated that the new Thor is a character who was saved by her predecessor, the male Thor, at one point and has somehow remade herself, taking over his heroic role.

UPDATE: Marvel has since revealed that the new “Thor” #1 will debut in October, from the creative team of Jason Aaron and Russell Dauterman.

Hooray! I was literally about to tweet abut how disappointed I was that no one on my dash was blogging about Thor and then it appeared

I was doing some research for a drawing and playing around with some Thor screencaps to see the Jotunheim sets a bit better (Is that weird? Am I the only one who does that? Damn the movie for being so dark anyway.) And I have to say, there’s some really sweet architectural details hidden in all that gloom. I just might have to hunt down some properly lighted HD caps to see it even better. Or are there actually any good pictures of the sets around?

Laufey - Queen of the Frost GiantsCrossover between the Marvel version (armor and stuff) and norse mythology were Laufey is actually a giantess

OH

The thing is. They probably only changed Laufey’s sex (and gender?), cause the Thor story started back in the 60s or something. In the myths it was pretty damn interesting that Loki was almost the only one who was referred to by his matronym “Laufeyson”, instead of a partonym like all other main gods (e.g. Thor Odinson).
It had to be important to point out that he was his mother’s son, or they would have called him Farbautisson. So Laufey was the more important parent in Loki’s story. So of course they had to turn her into a man, they couldn’t have the mother be more important than the father.
It’s just… look at this picture above. You can’t tell me that having a cold and merciless Frost Giant Queen as Odin’s big enemy wouldn’t have been more interesting.
Also, it’s so weird that a male character is called “Laufey” when it’s a feminine name still used by many women even today.
Maybe some next reboot (parallel universe) in the comics will show a world where Laufey is really Laufey instead of Farbauti with his wife’s name.

its been 2 years and i’m still fucked up over the fact thor had to watch what he thought was his brother committing suicide right in front of him and could do nothing to stop it

#then he had to have loki die in his arms#like a day after his…

There’s going to come a day when Loki gets killed for real, and Thor doesn’t accept it. And that day will break my heart.

this, yes, excuse me as i go cry all over everything
