Darcy is not an idiot. She’s, in fact, quite smart. She’s a polisci major and, if you’ve ever taken a single gov class, you know that that’s a very twisty, thinky, complicated program.

These are the people who become advisors to world leaders, ambassadors, and treaty negotiators. These people are able to relate almost scarily well with people from vastly different cultures.

Darcy doesn’t understand Jane-speak, yes, but that’s because theoretical physics is it’s own incredibly complicated profession/branch.

Darcy, probably even more than Jane,would be able to relate to Asguardians, because she’s got a basic frame work for the way complex, long-standing monarchies work.

Sure, she wouldn’t understand why the Bifrost works the way it does, but I bet you the Iron Man armor that she’d understand the potential delicate negations required for a multi-world/culture mode of transportation that has no (as of MCU so far) limits relating to size or distance.

She shows her smarts in Thor- this isn’t just me dreaming and hoping the intern is awesome- she is. Darcy herself says the only reasons she’s interning with Jane is that she needed the credits to graduate.

So please, please, for the love of all that is Marvel- stop making one of my favourite characters a shallow, simple, fawning fangirl.

She’s so much more than just that.
